Creating an export format definition

An export format definition defines how documents that reside in an ImandrA library are named when they are exported by users. The names given to exported document files can be a concatenation of any or all of the following elements:

To create an export format definition:

  1. Open Export Format Designer as described in About the Export Format Designer. It opens with a new unsaved export format definition loaded.
  2. To configure an existing export format definition, click the Open Definition button , select the definition file that you want to edit, and click Open.
  3. Select ExportInfoData in the left pane. The definition’s properties appear in the right pane.
  4. Enter or select options using the descriptions in the following table.

Option

Description

Name

The unique name of the export format definition.

UseFormatValueAsName

When set to True, the name of the value specified for Name is shown to the user as the default filename. When set to False, the document’s name is shown.

ValueDefinition

Click the button to display the Collection Editor to add or remove filename elements as described in Creating filename elements.

  1. Click the Save tool button to save your changes.
